Alkoomi Canada has an operational base in central Calgary providing support to our Canadian portfolio by our team of experienced Canadian consultants.
Alkoomi is actively engaged delivering a Culture Change Program to the TransCanada Coastal Gaslink Project senior team, LNG Canada stakeholders and the nominated contractors’ at multiple sites along the 670 km gas pipeline construction. This environmentally and culturally sensitive project involves transporting natural gas from the Dawson Creek area to the proposed LNG facility near Kitimat, on the west coast of British Columbia.
TransCanada Energy are working collaboratively with the First Nation Communities throughout the project and will be initiating an “Elder in Residence” program at most sites to encourage and promote understanding and respect for Indigenous perspectives, culture, and values. Alkoomi are working alongside ensuring that its program supports this important initiative.
Alkoomi has been working since 2013 with Interpipeline Ltd and currently delivering a organization wide culture change program to the Heartland Petrochemical Complex consisting of a propane dehydrogenation (PDH) and a polypropylene (PP) facility in Strathcona county, Alberta. The program is in service of a commitment to the elimination of all injury including those “invisible” injuries brought about by stress, anxiety and fatigue, to be rolled-out across all IPPL associated planned projects in Edmonton.
Alkoomi has been engaged with the Aecon group of companies since 2013, when it was first contracted to design and deliver a Safety Leadership and Cultural Development Program throughout Ontario with its Utilities sector. An ongoing relationship continued with Aecon and their JV partners SNC-Lavalin at the John Hart Generating Station Replacement Project on Vancouver Island in an environmentally sensitive area near Campbell River. Alkoomi worked with the leadership of the project in June 2015 including the high-risk mining and excavation workforce on an engagement phase. Most recently, Alkoomi currently has consultants working with Aecon Mining at the Oil Sands Mine operation at Fort McMurray and the Aecon (AFDE Partnership) at Site C Generating Station, Fort St John.
